Believe it or not, I never had any intention of being a photographer in my childhood. I’m not even sure I realized it could even be considered as a career. I was the little girl always playing school with my stuffed animals and using my red pens to leave large “A+++” on anything and everything. But I was also always the girl looking at pictures. Opening my grandma’s albums any chance I got, sneaking peeks at my brother’s off-limits yearbooks (sorry, Drew). That turned into a passionate hobby of scrapbooking, loving reading photography blogs, and joining the yearbook staff in high school as a copywriter. Again, no real intention of ever really setting out to become a photographer, even once I got my first digital camera in middle school.
I fell in love with physical photographs and the way that they bring people together as they reminisce and share memories, and I knew I wanted to save every memory possible to share with my own children one day.
Because my love stemmed from physical prints, I was so thrilled to provide those same feelings and memories to my clients once I launched my business. My heart would swell every time I saw their images on display in their home or at their weddings. It also caused me to cringe inside every time a client would say, “I haven’t printed any of my photos.” I completely understand that we live in a digital age, where people store their precious memories and moments on their devices.
But printed products are just as important in this digital era as ever before!
In our fast-paced digital world, we often forget how quickly technology changes. Phones and computers break, and digital formats can become outdated. The risk of losing your precious memories is real, and we’ve all experienced that heart-sinking feeling of losing photos because of a software crash or a lost hard drive. Printed photos, on the other hand, are much more permanent. They are tangible artifacts that you can hold in your hands and pass down to future generations. They’ll never become obsolete.
Albums also provide a way to showcase those memories in a form that can be cherished. They’re not just a way to preserve images—they’re a way to make those images come to life, to share your story with loved ones, and to create a meaningful heirloom that will last long after your digital devices are gone or images forgotten because you have such an overwhelming amount.
In today’s digital age, it’s easy to forget the power of physical prints. Sure, digital images are convenient, but there’s something undeniably special about holding a photograph in your hands. It’s a tangible connection to the moment, the scene, and the emotion that was captured. Prints have a way of transforming a simple image into something that can be experienced in a deeper, more personal way, and of bringing people together.
Your legacy deserves to live on not just in the heart of but also the eyes and hands of those you love most.
If you’re ready to preserve your most cherished moments in a meaningful, lasting way, I’d love to help you create something special. Whether you’re looking for an album, wall art, or another personalized print, I’m here to make your memories come to life.
