I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Margaux and Austin’s engagement session at the historic Naples Pier in Naples, Florida, and despite the chilly winds that greeted us that day, the love between these two created a warmth that made the entire shoot unforgettable.

A Windy, Chilly Day on Naples Pier
It’s not often that you experience chilly weather in Florida, but on the day of Margaux and Austin’s session, the skies were overcast, and the wind had definitely made its presence known. The waves crashed against the pier, and the air had a crispness that reminded us we were in the midst of a Florida winter. But instead of feeling like a challenge, the weather only added to the charm and intimacy of the session. While this Florida girl was bundled up and chilly, the New Yorker couple was right at home!
The wind created a sense of movement, adding drama to every shot, and while it might not have been the tropical warmth you typically expect at Naples Pier, it turned out to be the perfect backdrop for capturing a cozy, heartfelt engagement session.

A Picture-Perfect Pair in White
Margaux and Austin chose to wear crisp white outfits for their engagement session, which was the perfect choice given the windswept backdrop of the pier. Margaux wore a stunning white dress accented with a bow detail, which added a sweet, romantic touch to her ensemble. The delicate, structured bow on the back of her dress swayed in the breeze, creating beautiful, dynamic movement that added to the ethereal quality of the shoot. The flowing fabric of her dress complemented the movement of the ocean and the breeze, making her look like a vision of elegance against the rugged backdrop of the pier.
Austin, too, looked effortlessly handsome in a simple, tailored white button-up shirt that kept the vibe classic and clean. His calm demeanor and genuine smile were the perfect complement to Margaux’s radiant energy.

Love Amidst the Wind and Waves
As we walked along the pier, Margaux and Austin’s chemistry was undeniable. They shared playful moments as the wind tugged at their hair and clothes, laughing together at the unpredictability of the weather- especially when all 3 of us were nearly knocked down by an unexpected rogue wave! I love when couples can embrace the unplanned and find joy in the moment, and these two did exactly that. Whether they were gazing out over the water or laughing in each other’s arms, their connection was clear, and I could feel the love they shared in every shot.
The Naples Pier is a special place for engagement sessions, with its long boardwalk stretching out into the Gulf of Mexico. The view is incredible, and there’s something magical about the way the water sparkles, especially on cloudy days when the colors are softer and more romantic. While the weather may have been chilly, the sun had a radiant glow that amplified the vibes of the session.

The Beauty of Simplicity and Connection
While the windy conditions could have made things difficult, it actually turned out to be one of the highlights of the session. The wind added texture and drama, with Margaux’s hair dancing in the breeze and the bow on her dress fluttering in perfect harmony with the movement of the ocean. The simple beauty of their love—unfazed by the cold—shone through in every frame.
The images I captured that day felt timeless, a reflection of the genuine connection between Margaux and Austin. From the soft smiles to the tender moments of closeness, their love truly shined brighter than any sunshine ever could. We finished the session with a few quiet moments of the couple standing together on the pier, gazing out at the endless horizon—a fitting metaphor for the beautiful future they are about to build together.

A Day to Remember
Although the wind was fierce and the temperatures low, Margaux and Austin embraced the day with grace, humor, and warmth. It was a testament to their love and their ability to find beauty in every moment, no matter the circumstances. These kinds of sessions are so special because they reflect the true spirit of the couple—how they navigate life together with patience, laughter, and an unbreakable bond.
I feel so honored to have been a part of their engagement story and can’t wait to photograph their wedding day, where I know the love and magic will continue to unfold.
If you’re considering a Naples engagement session or any beach shoot, remember that no matter the weather, the most important thing is the connection between you and your partner. It’s those genuine, unscripted moments that make for the most memorable photos, and I think that’s exactly what Margaux and Austin’s session captured—a love that will stand the test of time, no matter what comes their way.
Margaux and Austin, thank you for allowing me to capture these beautiful moments for you. I’m so excited for your wedding day and the next chapter in your journey together!
