There’s something incredibly heartwarming about photographing a couple whose story you’ve already witnessed from the beginning. When Brooke + Mark reached out to tell me they were expecting their first baby boy this fall—and wanted me to photograph their maternity session—I couldn’t help but smile. I had captured their wedding, and now here they were again, stepping into a brand-new season with the same love, ease, and joy they’ve always shared.
And where better to document this next chapter than Siesta Key Beach, a place known for its soft quartz sand, gentle waves, and sunsets that seem to glow from within.
Brooke arrived in the most perfect maternity look: a simple white dress that moved beautifully in the breeze and offered complete comfort. It was effortless, timeless, and allowed her growing bump to be the star. She looked calm, radiant, and so ready for this new role.
Mark stayed true to his classic style—shorts, a crisp button-up, and his signature hat, which added that familiar touch that feels unmistakably “him.” Together, they struck the perfect balance of polished and relaxed, matching the soft elegance of the shoreline.
We wandered along the water’s edge as the sun stretched across the Gulf, painting everything in warm gold. Brooke + Mark walked hand-in-hand, pausing every few steps to laugh or lean into each other. That’s what I love most about photographing returning couples—they already know how to be themselves in front of the camera. They slip right back into that natural rhythm without a second thought.
There was a quiet sweetness to the evening, an unspoken excitement for the little boy they’ll soon be holding. Every hug, every smile, every tender glance seemed to hold the weight of all that anticipation.
When I get to photograph a couple again—especially during life’s biggest milestones—it feels like being invited deeper into their story. I remember the way they looked at each other on their wedding day, and now I get to see that same love grow into something even bigger.
With Brooke + Mark, that continuity brought so much comfort and ease. They trusted the process, relaxed into the moment, and let their connection guide the session.
(Inspired by Brooke + Mark’s beautiful evening.)
A breathable, easy-to-move-in dress—like Brooke’s—lets you focus on connection instead of adjusting your outfit.
Mark’s hat brought personality to their images. Small details like this make your photos feel authentically you.
Walking along the water, swaying together, or resting in the dunes creates natural, meaningful moments.
Siesta Key’s sunsets are truly spectacular. That warm, glowing light is perfect for maternity portraits.
You don’t need to “perform” for the camera. Simply be with your partner, savor the moment, and let your excitement for baby shine.
As the sun disappeared behind the horizon, Brooke rested her hands on her bump while Mark wrapped an arm around her, both of them looking out at the waves—quiet, content, and so full of love for the little boy they’ll soon meet.
Brooke + Mark, thank you for inviting me back into your lives to document this incredible season. I can’t wait to see you step into parenthood with the same grace and warmth you bring to everything.
If you’re expecting and dreaming of a beach maternity session, Siesta Key offers the perfect mix of beauty, comfort, and peaceful coastal charm. I’d be honored to help you capture this beautiful season with images that feel warm, genuine, and full of heart.
